In 2010 Greater City Tyre & Auto became part of the Bridgestone network,
the number one tyre brand in Australia.
"We want people to know that although the painting on the outside of the stores certainly tells you we're Bridgestone, Greater City Tyre & Auto are still the family owned and operated stores that you know and trust," said Managing Director, Rod Hunt.
Greater City Tyre & Auto also want people to know that they have acquired a second store.
"Not only have we the Greater City Tyre & Auto store in Long Gully but the new Golden Square store as well," he said.
Rod explains that with the added benefits of the Bridgestone Service Centre brand, Greater City Tyre & Auto are going from strength to strength.
"We not only sell tyres but are fully equipped workshops. We are Bridgestone service centres, which means there will be a strong focus on mechanical work. It's important to continue to provide our tyre service but also diversify," he said.
Having the Golden Square store certainly makes it easier for those who perhaps come from places like Kangaroo Flat and Rod said that those customers who have an account with them in Long Gully are able to use the same account at the High Street store.
"People can go to High Street knowing that it is owned by Greater City Tyre & Auto.
"The Golden Square site will soon be able to do all the mechanical work that we have been providing customers in Long Gully.
"We're a Repco serviced workshop in Long Gully and and we're a Repco authorised service in Golden Square as well."
There are two qualified mechanics working at the High Street site already and Rod said they're offering new car servicing, with a lot of new gear at their disposal.
"Our service centres look different but they're all the same where it counts; in the people, the service, and the range of tyre and mechanical services that we offer."
